SCREENWRITING WORKSHOP IN SÖDERMANLAND 2024

A Creative Meeting Place for Women Filmmakers​

On June 7–9 2024, Icefire, with support from Svensk-Danska kulturfonden, organised a three-day screenwriting workshop in Gnesta ( Sweden ) for female screenwriters and directors from Sweden and Denmark.

​

During three inspiring days, eight filmmakers – Christin Magdu, Frida Wallman, Marie Lagerqvist, Åsa Andersberg Strollo, Kristina Humle, Alexe Landgren, Karen Helene Hangaard and Elinor Isenberg – came together to develop their ongoing feature film and TV series projects, exchange experiences and draw inspiration from each other's creative processes.

 

The workshop combined individual writing sessions with group discussions, project presentations and workshop sessions where participants shared knowledge, thoughts and ideas about screenwriting, filmmaking and storytelling. There was also time for reflection, walks and creative conversations in a peaceful countryside setting.

The aim of the workshop was to give women filmmakers the time, inspiration and creative environment to develop their stories – all with the ambition of creating more powerful and magical stories for film and television.
